What I need to learn from Spain tennis coach who knows the world, Junior players to learn high quality play.
Until the day before yesterday, we invited Esparcia coach from Spain and held a tennis camp
for 5 nights and 6 days. Experience playing the world top player tour coach and winning Nadal.
Experience teaching numerous junior players including Chinese national team junior. Also,
from the experience of teaching professional coaches all over the world,
we practiced on the theme “How to use the head to win with tennis” to the juniors
in a period of 5 nights and 6 days.
The Hakone tennis camp aimed for achievement in 5 days.
In this camp we set a goal that “children will be able to use tactical heads”.
It was too short for 1 or 2 days, but I thought it was not good to set a goal, so I made it for 5 days.
Children’ play depends on their tiring.
In this camp, I focused on the tactical aspects of children rather than technical things
and checked and advised play. What I felt is that there are tremendous both good and bad conditions
on the tactical side that I try on various play. If the head and body get tired, play becomes monotonous.
On the contrary, when in good shape, they could play just like “I wanted to see it all the time”.
Run the opponent. The person who is felt the idea felt every time you hit, such as attaching strength,
attaching angle, etc., will continue to be fun as they move next to where the ball is likely to come.
The valley came on the third day and the atmosphere was not good.
On the third day of this camp, with a high level of difficulty tactics practice,
the atmosphere of practice tone down, play became heavy. Because I didn’t know what to do,
everyone was playing while worrying about it, and match practice was done in the darkened air.
Of course, the content of the play was not good either.
There was a sense of accomplishment on 4th after a firm reaction.
After the end of the third day we talked with Esparcia coach and on the fourth day again we practiced
tactics with the same contents with a higher degree of difficulty.
I changed to lesson contents which I can understand more sensually than the previous day
and helped the players understand. I do not know if it is an influence, but players’ playing has improved
dramatically, and Esparcia coach and I have also achieved a sense of accomplishment.
In order to improve the quality…
The story with Esparcia coach seems to be that we need to create a day we can play good that
we have not had so far to improve the quality of players’ play.
To do that, I need a bad day. It is necessary to think that a bad day is a part to welcome a good day.
The team who fell on the third day showed the best play on the fourth day.
The low age team who kept on going well since the first day, but was getting exhausted on the last day.
However, there was a day in which improvement of play quality was seen within 5 days.
To extend the player,
To successfully manage a bad day, make a reaction to it firmly, and to create a day that will show you the unprecedented play.
It is important that we learned from Esparcia coach at this camp.
